Platelet-Rich Plasma combined with microneedling. Your own concentrated growth factors, applied during a microneedling session for enhanced skin rejuvenation. Performed by a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner.
Most patients are pink for a day with no real downtime.
Before & After: Microneedling with PRP
Here is one of our patients one month after a single microneedling with PRP session. In each photo, the left side is before and the right side is after. Results continue to build over the recommended course of three sessions.
Photographs are of an actual patient, shared with authorization. Individual results vary and are not guaranteed. Results shown are one month after a single session; outcomes depend on skin condition, the number of sessions, and individual healing.
What PRP is
Platelet-Rich Plasma is a concentrated portion of your own blood, prepared in-office. We do a small blood draw, place the sample in a centrifuge, and separate the platelet-rich plasma layer from the rest of the blood. The result is a small volume of plasma that contains a higher concentration of growth factors than the original blood sample. Those growth factors signal cells in the treated area to repair, regenerate, and rebuild. The body uses them naturally during healing; PRP simply concentrates them and delivers them where they can be immediately used. There is no foreign material, no dye, and no synthetic drug component — everything in the PRP came from you.How we use PRP at this practice
At Wellness & Longevity, we currently offer PRP combined with microneedling for facial skin rejuvenation. The microneedling creates micro-channels in the skin that signal collagen production; the PRP applied during the procedure pairs with that healing response and supports faster recovery and improved outcomes for many patients. Some practices offer PRP for hair restoration, joint applications, and other indications. We are focused on the skin applications, including face, and we do offer PRP for hair restoration for the right candidate on a case by case basis.Pricing
A typical course is 3 sessions for best results. Plan on about $1,050 for the recommended series with PRP. Prices can change without notice.
What to expect at your visit
- Brief consultation. We review your skin history, goals, and any medications or conditions that affect candidacy.
- Blood draw. A small sample of blood is drawn from your arm, similar to a routine lab draw. The sample stays in our office.
- Preparation. The sample is processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelet-rich plasma layer. While that runs, the treatment area is cleansed and a topical numbing cream is applied.
- Microneedling with PRP. We perform microneedling using SkinPen Precision and apply the PRP during and immediately after the treatment so the growth factors can travel through the micro-channels we just created. Total visit takes 60 to 75 minutes including consultation and prep.
- Aftercare. Skin appears mildly pink, similar to a light sunburn. A soothing serum is applied. You leave with simple post-treatment instructions.
Recovery and results
Most patients return to normal activity the same day. Pink skin appearance, swelling, and tenderness can last 24 to 72 hours.Important considerations
PRP with microneedling may not be appropriate if you have active acne breakouts, certain skin conditions, blood-clotting disorders, are taking medications that affect coagulation, or are pregnant or nursing. Why Wellness & Longevity in Roseville
